I never interpreted Your Mouth as about the break-up per se, just a reflection of the stuff he was going thru at the time, Mother City's about going to New York at the time, not about the break-up, My friend the enemy's about drugs not the break-up itself, etc, etc. I may well be wrong, but I always thought it was just about some annoying twat who says annoying/hurtful shit that one of these days is gonna get themself a slap.
I can't say it's a favourite of mine, but I don't think it's shit either.

I interpreted it as his musings about slapping his girlfriend in the face, to be honest, and I still like the song.

FFS it's just a song. Songs can be written about some of the darker thoughts you have as well as the happy happy side of life. I'm sure we've all had THOUGHTS like that and felt ashamed for them. As long as you don't act on them then you're not a piece of shit woman/man beating scumbag. Right?

I think it's likely to be his gf due to the romantic nature of the music itself, lyrics aside it is very ballady. Just my take though.

I don't think it's a thin concept at all. I'm assuming the song is about his (then) girlfriend, given the ballady nature of the song, and I can't really equate Ginger with even fantasising about hitting a girl. Especially after reading his writings on the website about his childhood homelife.

I think it's called being passionate. I'd rather have a good argument about something with someone than have no opinion whatsoever. At least then I'd respect the person I was arguing with. And yes, I'm talking about in real life as well as on the internet. That's one of the main problems these days, everyone's too scared to voice an opinion in case it offends someone.
