Nah. First Kerrang Kompilation was about 10 years before that, "24 Monsters of Rock". Probably best if you're not old enough to remember that far back.

For me.. hearing 'I Wanna Go' on the Bruce Dickinson Rock Show on Radio 1 in '95.. I rushed out and bought the single straight away. (And I was only 13 then :D)

Great day

Postby joe_dunne » 16th Aug 06, 12:43

Hi all,

Ive been on the list since '97 but this is my first post here.

I first heard the wildhearts when i saw the vid for tv tan on raw power about half 3 in the morning.

I bought earth v's on a sunny sat, the same sat that Ireland bet Italy on the 1990 world cup, and the same sat that my dad brought home a big massive huge tv to watch the match on!

The next day never stood a chance. lol

Which you've got to admit is pretty impressive considering it didn't come out 'til 1993.

It was actually the 1994 world cup where Ireland beat Italy!!!!!
And yes, it was a saturday, cos I was working in the pub that night and I ended up having to work the function room where there was no telly :(

Me too, they showed the low budget video in the new bands section, Raw Talent. I think the show had just changed it's name from Headbangers Ball to Raw Power. Then they changed it to Noisy Mothers.

Those were the days, eh ?

Sorry to revisit an old topic, but reading it through I had to correct this.
Headbangers Ball and Raw Power were two completely different programmes, Headbangers Ball was exclusively on MTV, Raw Power was an ITV programme.

Raw Power was previously called The Power Hour, and then later morphed into Noisy Mothers, and Headbangers Ball still appears occaisonally on MTV, don't ask me when, I never look out for it, seeing as what gets played on there and Kerrang and Scuzz hardly ever appeals to me
