Thank You Ginger......

Postby davejnick » 11th Jul 06, 19:59

We all have things to thank him for. Whether it be getting us through those uncomfortable teenage years, relieving the boredom while waiting at the bus-stop, or in some extreme cases stopping us from doing something daft and doing away with ourselves.

Maybe he just inspired a haircut or a hangover cure (I can't be the only one who tried to figure out the recipe for a caffeine bomb, surely?)

But I sometimes wonder whether he actually realises how much of an impact the songs that come from his pen and his guitar have on our lives, and how much we appreciated his company on those nights when we just shut the curtains, opened a bottle of JD and put "Endless Nameless" on.

So here's your chance to say cheers to the man with the ginger dreadlocks.

I'll start.

Thanks for being the soundtrack to the difficult teenage years, but most of all thanks for being there through the the even more difficult (in my case) adult ones. I owe you several thousand pints worth of thanks.
How dare you!

I second that a million times over. The man and his music have got me through some great times and some low times.

Also, were it not for some words of encouragement and praise a couple of months ago, I doubt that I would be sitting here now with a 'nearly' completed album full of songs I am extremely proud of.

The man is the greatest legend our time has seen in my eyes and I do not say that lightly.

For me its your lyrics that do it - you say the things I wanna say. They are the commentary of my life.

I lived in Shitsville. I too have fucked it up and thrown it all away. Every day I used to watch those grim faces on the train that were smiling the previous day. My brother has the best TV tan anyone ever had. I fell in love with a miles away girl who turned out to be a headfuck, then had my heart broken and drank in the daytime as I realised it was all loveshit.

The demons the devil sent me did drag me down for a while. My shoes have changed, the bullshit goes on and thanks to my moodswings (and roundabouts) I'm forever telling people to shut their fucking mouth and use their fucking brain. But at the end of the day your music HAS got me through times of no love and despite my OCD I'll always survive those lonely days and keep searching for someone that won't let me go.

Why? Cos I'm in love with the rock n roll world!!! 8) :D

Couldn't have put it better myself, quality writing CG mate, :D , bet you're feeling on top of the world, getting it in Lillies garden. Me, well, I can't do right for doing wrong and I always seem to give the girl a gun, but she always drops it and it ends up in a suckerpunch where 29x the pain lasts all weekend!!.

Anyway, and this time I'm serious, thanks for it all Ginger.
(I think we'd better stop this story via song title now, before it starts to sound like Victory by Megadeth!!!!)

He's Human, so of course his music means sometrhing to us. He's probably gone through the same emotions as us. Well when i say human, i mean he is, but, his song writing is out of this world. Feel like he's one of my best friends. FUCKING GENIUS. 8)
