Endless Nameless Endlessley

Postby Ilsa » 7th Jul 09, 11:14

Mr Pudu is transferring all his CD's to his external hard drive at work. This has lead to a rather entertaining journey in to work.

In the stack of CD's he brought with him this morning was Endless Nameless. No one has ever told me not to trust a CD that you can't tell which way round it's supposed to go in the player.... perhaps it's obvious if you think about it... or a lesson we're all supposed to learn for ourselves... anyway, once my player had managed to read the darned thing it wouldn't give it back. 40 mins of endless pressing of the eject button, endlessly turning the machine off and on - even Pudu's best Aurthur Fonzerelli impression and ramming various things in to the gap yielded no CD.

Should you ever find yourselves in an Endless Nameless Groundhog Day situation, the key is to turn off the car, wait a few moments, turn the key once and frantically press the eject button. The victory squeal is optional - but I found it rather satisfying.

Sadly, it shall never darken my cars CD player ever again.

I've always found that the artwork helpfully printed on one side of the CD was a bit of a giveaway. Image

Can it be possibly true that Mr Pudu has a knocked off copy? Image

You know there'll probably be a little hole somewhere on the front of the player that you can poke a paperclip into to release the mechanism? Image

Mr Pudu actually has a properly bought copy from the day of its release however this copy is on tape therefore I also have a copied CD version of said album as my car no longer contains anything that will play my official copy.

It works fine in my car so I just think that Ilsa's car is to blame and therefore crap! Even more so as it doesn't have that little hole that Ean mentioned to shove a paper clip in.
Too many fucking bubbles man!

Trust me Ean, if there was any hole, obvious or otherwise, on the player we'd have found it! Even random aggressive button pressing didn't work - what's all that about?!

It's Pudu's dodgy copy to blame not my lovely lovely car, that is far from crap. And you know it you very mean man. Speaking of crap, it is actually covered in bird crap, so much so that people just mentioned it to me on Asda car park, but that aside it is beautiful and new and shiny. You take that back Mr P - or else bad, bad things will happen

I put another one of Pudu's CD's in on the way to Asda..... haven't tried to take it out as yet....

Yes, they go in printed side up just like in your CD player at home.

I found my 'Endless Nameless' CD plays perfectly in the car and ejects normally. However, playing it once in my car was was enough as I spent the entire time thinking my engine was about to explode or the car was about to do itself a dire mischief in some other way. To me it's an album to listen to at home only - and only when I'm in the right mood. Which possibly fortunately I am very rarely in.

Must be that time again. I love this album. Today it's my absolute favourite Wildhearts record. Fits my mood perfectly.

Does that mean you don't consider 'P.H.U.Q.' a Wildhearts album either? :?

as far as I know CJ played on most of PHUQ but was 'sacked' half way through the overall recording? I'm not an expert on the matter though!

...and I was only joking anyway, but I do seem to much prefer the Wildhearts with CJ in them, maybe it's his backing vocals or something?

Endless Nameless is an amazing album. Definitely better than Must Be Destroyed, and in going back to listen to them, I return to this more often than the recent self-titled one...

It's not a dodgy copy. As a loving gift having heard him mention he couldn't get the album anymore, I hunted through hundreds of mp3 sites until I found it. It is on a copy cd, but we only made one copy. All offical don't you know. You can now get it, but this was about 2 years ago.

As for Pudu's bird pooh car:it's an anti theft device because he works in Manchester. There's a smell off fish in the car too just in case the bird pooh doesn't work

i'll tell thee what, as much as i love the album, i found out yesterday it's not a good idea to listen to it at work. the volume fluctuates so much that i end up falling over myself trying to turn it down before some old bint has a heart attack, every time there's a huge blast of noise!
