GHOSTWATCH!!!!

Postby spoon_of_grimbo » 17th May 09, 18:41

i'd have been 4 when this was first screened, so i didn't see it back then, but i've just watched it in full on youtube, and despite knowing it was fully staged, there are still a few bits that are legitimately creepy!

any boardies a few years older than me happen to catch it on the original broadcast? i've heard there was a nation crisis about it!

Yeah, I remember watching it, and not knowing until later that it was staged

Was that the thing that went out years ago on halloween night? I think I saw it if so. I was babysitting the neighbour's kids, they were all in bed and I was watching it on my own in a strange house. Scared the crap out of me.

yup i watched in the original broadcast and it did indeed scare the shit out of on the bit where the camera pans across the girls bedroom after the eldest came running down saying that ghost had attacked the younger girl and nothing was seen until the camera panned back the figure was stood in the window, couldnt watch it after that, however if my mother had bought the tv times that week id have known it was fake and wouldnt have been scared of it. so it's her fault i couldnt sleep for a week.

There was a huge national outcry the weeks after, i cant remember the full details of it but it was something do with a kid hanging himself after watching the show.
Did you just say "Pig Flute"?

I remember it well.

My cousin bought the DVD a few years ago and it was great to see it again.

We talked of nothing else in school for days afterwards.

Blimey, I remember that - watched it live thinking it was real. Scared the bejeesus out of me!

"and me cheese and pickle sandwich went flying across the room"

ooh, and the bit where we thought it was 'live' but it wasn't. I noticed cos the picture was back up - then it turned out that all hell had broke loose and what we had been seeing was a tape on a loop.

Still scares me now (silly cow)

Me and my brother watched it at my Nan and Grandad's, and didn't know it was staged. We went to bed half way through, just as stuff was getting freaky, and I was shit scared all night long... The next morning we watched the video of the rest of it we'd set and I was geniuinely terrified by Michael Parkinson getting posessed. I was about 12 at the time...

I saw it at the time and knew it was a...Screen Two drama I think. Remember going to school the next day and everyone was freaking out over it about an alleged ghost popping up all over the place. I hadn't spotted a thing. I'd videotaped it so watched it again with my mum the next night - we both shat ourselves! Think Pipes appears about twelve times if I remember rightly? Bloody horrible thing!

Has anyone seen Sarah Greene since...?
