how was the set list?

Very similar to other gigs, only Yeah Yeah Yeah was where it was supposed to be. An encore.

This is without doubt my fave ever Ginger/Wildhearts gig. Can't put my finger on why, it just was.

Sheffield really was something special - good crowd, great atmosphere, sounded great for every song. I'm really enjoying 'Return of the Northern Cardinal' now, it just gets stuck in your head. And now it's 6am and I'm wide awake without any caffeine. I've got my fingers crossed that Leeds will be even better but last night will be a tough one to beat.

I nearly forgot: this is what I could see of the setlist from Manchester. Missing off the top of this are Black Windows, 10 Flaws Down, Casino Bay and Tennants

I couldn't see the one for Sheffield from where I was stood because the stage is about 5ft high!

It was indeed. Great atmosphere, great sound and great bands. Punctuated by mild insanity from two who shall remain nameless... ;)

oleandershelly wrote:And I avoided embarassment all night. I didn't say anything stupid or call anyone the wrong name after the gig,

Despite our best efforts to confuse you.

You did try hard and it nearly worked, but I wasn't drunk enough. I think we were low on the insanity stakes as we weren't drinking. Just wait till we're on top form lol. Maybe I'll get to lick Tony at Leeds

Nottingham was as good as the other gigs sounded from reading this thread ie fucking excellent!

Expensive night for me though, £30 taxi on top of buying a lot of merch.as the show went on beyond the time I could get my last bus, I had to leave before I could meet Ginger or get anything signed which was a bit of a shame...

But do I really care about spending the money? No is the answer, because it was such a good gig. Everything sounded fantastic to these ears. The banter was as funny as it usually is!

I cant really do setlists because my memory is poor, we didn't get much from Market Harbour (just Casino Bay) though those 2 new songs made up for that, as did hearing Drinking In The Daytime played to perfection

Got myself a nice position by the bar too.

Oh and we all got to sing Happy Birthday to Tony Wright, who got a cake preented to him by Ginger after Laika Dog's set (well, before their final track)

There's one other thing i'd like to mention... bands in fancy dress are awesome, and Ginger nearly switched from Panda love to Spider love

Slowly things come back to me... we also got A lil' bit o' gravy, the only cover song in the set (ahem)

I don't normally feel the need to post on here, as you can probably tell by the number of posts I have to my name, but I am a regular "reader". So why now you are probably asking (or maybe not)...............

The answer is simple. Nottingham. Seven. 6th May.

Unbelievable!!

Quite simply one of the best performances ever, not only by Ginger and the band (an amazing line up of talent dressed in stupid costumes) but also from Tony Wright (my new best mate) and Laika Dog.

Thanks guys for such a heartfelt and genuine performance. Ginger was on top form (thus making the gig instantly more enjoyable) and the band was as tight as anything........2 days to rehearse was it???

Oh and for those who are wondering, Laika Dog are so named because, as Tony Wright put it............."we feel like a dog in a rocket being blasted in to space. We haven't got a f*cking clue what's going on!". Pure genius!!!! :D

The Dogs D'Amour in June are going to have to go some to beat that performance, in fact I don't think anybody can. An all round top night, in top company, watching top bands at the top of their game.

Sorry for taking your time guys, last night just moved me enough to post.........or am I still drunk???
Whoever said that living was easy?????

Nottingham was superb last night - everything from the support, the costumes, the music itself to being able to chat to Ginger about my baby at the end; as some of you probably know, the mister and I got together at a Sonic Circus gig, so if it wwasn't for Ginger my little girl wouldn't be around!

I got a couple of pics of Ginger's outfit if anyone's interested... http://www.flickr.com/photos/hannahwudarski/

Also, I've uploaded a video of 'Why Can't You Just Be Normal All The Time' onto youtube - unfortunately, I was too busy leaping around like a loon to keep the camera steady, but the sound's decent enough!

Aye, that's the one! Ta for putting up the link - I had a wriggling baby on my lap when I was posting, and copying and pasting was proving much too difficult!

London = by thunder, it was awesome!!!

Great setlist, similar to the other gigs but he seemed to play for a bit longer than he did in York. Band were on fire and it was one of the best non-WH gigs I've seen him do.

Lovely to see a few listees there too! Pleasure to see y'all there and have a beverage with ya!

Oh my lord, he played A Lil' Bit O' Gravy in London last night! Nice to hear some SG5 songs get an airing too. My boyfriend and I made a list of songs we wanted to hear while we were on the train on the way there, and by gosh, Ginger pretty much played them all! Ten Flaws Down was the highlight for me.

Anyone have a full setlist, by chance?
