jesus, the new rock sound's out already?! i best get myself down to wh smiths s'afternoon then!

it's about the only music magazine worth buying anymore IMO. i don't think there's been a single issue since i started buying it in 2002 that hasn't introduced me to at least one or two bands that i've gone on to really like.

I think I might strart buying this magazine, I've bought odd issues here and there and it was a decent enough read, it seems a bit more grown- up than Kerrang! and its "100 sexiest rock stars" features.

on the wildhearts future

it's not the most interesting WH article in the world, but it's not bad, and it's pretty praising of their recent material, which is good.

however, the readers' poll results reveal that way too many people are into some pretty awful shit. bring me the hairspray got best british band and album. fuck off!

Wildhearts also made a couple of appearances in Kerrang this week too: A review of their Hard Rock Hell performance (KKKK) and they also got the Kerrang "letter of the week" dedicated to them - worth a looksy.

I`m sure i saw a c.d. of T.V.Tan on ebay, about three years ago, which was released in Australia. It had three tracks, and came in a cardboard sleeve.

Before the 2007 album, they were a 'comedy band' and that album 'was the first time we made music that moved us'?

:? Seems a bizarro thing to say to me, especially as I think that album, while good, sounds a little bit 'Wildhearts by numbers' or a bit like The Wildhearts self-consciously imitating The Wildhearts. If you know what I mean. Like Coupled With often did to me too I suppose.

Hmm. Just when you think you know Ginger he curveballs you again. It's all part of the fun though. :)

I reckon he means the soap opera antics that the band were as famous for when he refers to them as a "comedy band".

As for the comment about it being the first time they made music that moved them, does seem quite strange but maybe it's true. I think "The Wildhearts" is a great album with some killer songs on like "Rooting for the Bad Guy.." and "Bi Polar Baby" but I wouldn't say it was the album of their career so far. Coupled with the "comedy band" comment it almost sounds like it implies their earlier albums weren't all that.

But at least it's good exposure and a positive article. I can't wait to hear what the next album will be like. I think the last album was a resurgence and the next will be a true classic.
