I agree with sonicshake. Much as I love PHUQ, the absolute all-round pinnacles of his career so far (imo) are those three.

For me it would be: -

1. PHUQ
2. Valor Del Corazon
3. Earth Vs.

I love PHUQ it's too good!

Agreed. Have a Werther's Original while I ruffle your hair, you clever little scamp, you. :)

These are the 3 albums I recently sent to a Prince/Foo Fighters - loving internet acquaintance in Banbury in order to give him the strongest album-based selection of Ginger's work. He thought they were great, fab, groovy, ace and killer hep daddy yeah. Really.

I'd struggle to leave out the original version of FFL.
How dare you!

i guess it depends which era you started listening to his music and the reasons why. I can't go against earth vs, phuq and ffl. The new stuff's great but there's just something more spine tinglingly special in songs like love you til i don't, everlone, caprice, nita nitro, jonesing for jones and the whole of ffl!! for me anyway. every song on those albums is awesome and as much as there is brilliance on all the others there are still tracks that I fast forward. Maybe it's nostalgia...

How's about picking an ABSOLUTE favourite Ginger album?

Personally, I love the Wildhearts stuff massively, there's been some great stuff by SG5, some of the solo stuff was good but........

I have to say, I've been a massive Wildhearts fan for years, and VDC is my absolute favourite album Ginger's EVER done.

Might be that i went thru some problems round the time it was released and I related to it more, but I fucking love that album!

 STOP PRESS! FANS PLACE ENTIRE BACK CATALOGUE OF WiLDHEARTS MAN'S RECORDING CAREER IN 'HOLY TRINITY' OF ALBUMS!
A controversial new thread on the 'Ginger and The Sonic Circus' message board has revealed that fans of Ginger love everything their hero has ever released! While some preferred certain albums over others all were content to allow others to their own opinion. The unprecedented findings have sparked widespread agreement amongst fans that they do indeed love Ginger and that all of his musical ventures over the years have been great.
The thread continues.

yeah VDC is defo my fave but he`s always tried somethin different wiv every release.when i 1st played VCD my mrs sed fuckin `ell gingers mellowed this sounds like " bon jovi" but after a few more listen (and a few slaps) the riffs just became more prominant stuff like "my friend the enemy" "bulb" and "drinkin in the daytime" fuckin kick arse and make me dick hard

I have to admit that I like VDC the best at the moment but I think that's to be expected: it's only been out for a few months and all of the songs still sound fresh to my ears (relatively). You need to give it a few years before you've got enough perspective to rate it alongside the likes of BLM and Earth Vs.

Me, I remember when BLM came out, I thought it was great and that it pissed all over even Earth Vs. However, having gained a bit of perspective, the initial excitement has died down and I can judge both albums objectively. To be honest, I think that Earth Vs now comes out on top but only just... meanwhile, VDC is currently my favourite by miles but given time and perspective, I reckon I might change my mind. We'll see.

(maybe that liquid lunch wasn't such a good idea since it is making me talk bollocks on the internet... oh well ;-) )
In an ideal world there'd be no time for ideals.
