I wrote:'This is alien lake monsters from out, out, out of UFO's' from the lyrics of Sky Babies printed in a Fanzine years ago.

I've just remembered the line into the last chorus too...

*ahem*
Alone... Me?... Yeah... Free... I... Wanna... Party!

It's not even a difficult line to make out, so god knows how they got it that wrong.

I used to think artichoke appeared twice in TV Tan:

"(So-so-KO) I need an arichoke"
"I like to smoke an artichoke till somethings deep inside"

Arg, no! I was going to post that my other half has ruined the song for me by singing along to it 'I need an artichoke'. Hrm!

Glad I'm not the only one that likes to sing along with the lyrics I've made up, just for want of being able to sing along..

(And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that likes rathergood.com, too. :D)

My favourite is the first line of Today by the Smashing Pumpkins which I always used to mis-hear as "Today is the greatest day of Everlone". The spooky thing is that I'd not actually heard of the Wildhearts at that point and Everlone isn't even a real word. At the time, I thought that the Smashing Pumpkins were the best band ever. I guess fate was trying to tell me that there was an even better band out there ...

"Show me how you wanna do me..." - Britney Spears - Hit me one more time (an ex genuinly thought those were the real lyrics).

I also thought Macy Gray stated that she wore goggles when "he" was not there...

I've just thought of another one...

Crying Over Nothing:

Those empty headed heroes
And those rumours going round......

I heard those lines as:

Those acne headed heroes
And those Germans coming round...

It would more likely have been another member of the band doing it for him. Stewart Copeland (drummer) famously wrote "f***", "off", "you" and "c**t" across his toms on later tours to make him hit them harder.

Another misheard lyric (can't remember if I've already posted it): "I just died in your arms tonight - must have been some kind of cheese" - Cutting Crew.

has anybody else drunkenly sung along at full tilt only to discover (when people look at you funny) you're singing the wrong lyrics? or is that just me? :?
"But what can he do?"
"I hear he can sing!"
"Well, go on then, sing!"
"SING, SING, SING, SING!"

No, I'm with you on that. I can honestly say I don't know every lyric of every Wildhearts song but I still sing along...

well that's their last chance then - I thought to myself when i heard this on the radio "they may be boring whiny tosspots but at least they're Bill Bailey fans." And now it turns out they're not taking the piss out of the evil De Burgh at all. what can i say.
This isn't one of mine, but it's quite cute:
"Away in a manger
No crisps for his friends"
Ayo, lesson here, Bey. You come at the king, you best not miss. - Omar
