No idea what that's about - never heard anything about Ginger playing a 'fake'. By 'fake' I assume people mean something that even has the correct tradmark Gibson logo as opposed to just a good quality Les Paul copy? Some top quality copies are actually better than some genuine Gibsons. Usually, the truss rod cover is a givaway - I've never seen anything other than a Gibson with only two screws holding the cover - all lesser guitars (including the Epiphone 'official' copies have three screws holding the cover on. It's all to do with the way the neck is made...

I've never heard that rumour before... I recall Ginger and CJ being interviewed in Guitarist magazine just after '...must be destroyed' came out. The 25/50 was talked about by the writer as being genuine. I recall that Ginger said he was planning on retiring the old girl from live shows but that hasn't happened

DLoB - You're right, some 'fake' LPs are better than the real ones. Gibson quality has slipped in recent years. A mate of mine has a Gibson SG standard and I swear my Epi LP Silverburst plays and sounds better.

Yes, I remember him saying he was going to 'retire' it from gigging, and he seemed to for a while. But now he seems to have got rid of most his other guitars I guess it has had to come out of retirement. I see he was using in New York recently.

A friend of mine has an old Tokai Les Paul which his says plays and sounds better than his Gibson version. I think like the original (pre Fender owned) Squire guitars, Tokai ones used to be made in Japan, but they have since shifted production to somewhere cheaper in the far east and quality has dropped considerably. I think Gibson quality has slipped since they moved production away from the Kalamazoo factory and lost most their skilled workforce. I have a '74 Gibson RD and the quality is far better than the brand new Gibson I bought last year.

if you make a faceplate for your guitar hero controller i want one too...PLEAAASEE :D

Sadly I recently found out that I can't get a les paul guitar hero controller for the PS2, but you can get one for the wii or ps3. So I'd have to buy a whole new console, another copy of the game AND the new controller. Like that's going to happen. So unfortunately this plan has been shelved, which saves me a good few evenings of photoshop work.

However, you can get a flying V controller now. And it's my birthday in a month

*edit* just found this on ebay:
