They'll turn up, it took two days for mine to be posted, although they seem to have removed the post I was replying to so it just looks a bit silly now.

The hijack seems to be going quite well though. :D

The feature went out about a week ago at 1a.m.-ish (can't remember, I was in bed!) as part of a late night news programme they do on BBC6.

You'll be pleased to hear Ginger got a mention alongside other 6 Music staples such as Radiohead and Tom Waits! The presenters seemed a bit confused but from what I can gather their tastes are pretty rock-free affairs. BBC6 very rarely play any Wildhearts and in the last 6 months I can only really recall Nemone playing Sick of Drugs and Sean Keaveny playing I Wanna Go... as a listener request. Although an honourable mention goes to Chris Hawkins who played some of the BBC session tracks they recorded - nice one Chris Hawkins!

My request (they didn't think Destroy All Monsters was breakfast stuff really). 8)
It is odd that as a whole 6Music does play some good stuff, and not all current chart shit either, but the Wildhearts and their ilk rarely get a look in. At the moment in the day there seems to be an awful lot of reggae-based stuff, which is actually ok when you're at work but the odd Ginger track would go down very nicely...

Ask them to play Love U Til I Don't then, that has a reggaeish break down bit hehehe

There's been a shake-up at the station recently hence the departure of Phil Jupitus (who occasionally got Ginger in for chats) and the moving of Gideon Coe to a late night slot. The new head of programming for BBC6 is basically trying to drag more listeners in which has inevitably meant more 'celebrity' dj's and a decline in quality.

Luckily Bruce Dickinsons rock show is still going and is awesome: he'll often Wildhearts it up if they've got something to promote!

Well done on the I Wanna Go request though, it must be the first time that tracks been played on a breakfast show in about 12 years!
