Tokyo show tonight... (coupla spoilers)

Was ace. Just got home. Ginger started the show with a lovely little ode to happiness. Heartwarming stuff :-) Then into Only a Problem (played in full bandit gear). Played a mix of usual acoustic fare and a few surprises, but even the usual stuff was different. Why? Ginger had an unfamiliar partner, one Scott from America but not that one, playing some lovely bluesy lead guitar. Nice. The guitars sounded very warm overall. I liked. A few comedy takes and covers thrown in to the mix, lots of medley play (sometimes just a verse or chorus then onto the next). About 3 songs into the set "the band" came out. The band being 2 Japanese punters with tambourine and maracas, and two girls doing not much but holding drumsticks and looking pretty. Certainly added to the feel. Ginger kept going on about his voice being in a bad way, but sounded fine. The ending was very abrupt, Ginger just deciding they've played everything so time to go, maybe to save his voice for future dates. Cue 10 minutes of encore clapping but no joy. Still didn't take away from what was a top show. Must have gone on nearly an hour and a half.

Choice merch on offer:
Market Harbour T-shirts in too-small-for-my-belly Japanese sizes
Ginger
Wildhearts guitar stickers which I got a double helping of
Potatoes & U
Yeah Yeah Yeah vinyl disc (I think)
Still no blasting Willie Cunt

What sort of things hit the set list? Any massive oddities? Anything from MH?

Speaking of MH, what's the shirt like? Just the cover?

Overall sounds like you had a fair old night Mochy - hope it was a ball.

Umm, it's red with dark ink depicting a picture of Ginger with the song titles and album name around him and fancy writing. That's about the best I can here. There was a black one with a different design but can't remember what that was. The red one was tres cool.

Off the new Album thye played Mailbu, How Hard Can You Make It, the one that starts "I've come a long way from the distance", one or two of the instrumentals, maybe one more, basiclaly the acousticy ones.

Surprises (?) were Loveshit, Drunken Lord and Lilly's Garden, which were tremendous.

He opened with Only A Problem, ended with A Little Bit O' Gravy and a "comedy song ending"-off with Scott. In between there may or may not have been:

Weekend
Caffeine Bomb
29 x The Pain
Loveshit
I Wanna Go
Geordie in Wonderland
In Lilly's Garden
Girls Are Better Than Boys
Inside Out
There's Always Someone More F'd Up
Drinking In The Daytime
Only One Hell
One Love One life One Girl
Mother City
The MH songs previously mentioned

And also:
No Matter What
Battleship Chains by "Georgia Satellites"
Some Irish Folk instumental that sounded a little like Whelans Frolics
A school prom social dance track (I shit you not - better brush up on the Gay Gordons and Canadian Barn Dance)
A few other covers I didn't know or recognise or can't remember (i must have known them cos I was singing along to at least one...)
Witty Banter aplenty

I just noticed who posted the first comment. Velv! I'm having flashbacks to an Easy Everything cafe, the cold hard floor of Victoria station and McDonalds for breakfast. Marvelous.
