They play most of the rocking stuff of VDC. Ginger frequently mentioned that they only have one album , so most of the songs are gonna be off that album. They did open with Ugly which I thought was fantastic. Played a couple of covers too and only one wildhearts song. To be honest the sheer muscianship up onstage was phenomenal, I got the feeling they could play anything and make it ROCK!!!!

PS Conny Bloom is awesome, as is Jase Edwards and Jon Poole and come to think of it they were all amazing.

Thanks!

Which Wildhearts' song did they play? I assumed they might also play Sonic Shake as they did on the last tour I think....

Yip, 3 guitarists!! Sounded great!

They ended on 29 x the Pain. Sonic Shake was also played.

Ugly wasn't played live, just from CD (as the wrong track was played first!!).

One downside last night was they were playing the album over the PA when no bands were on, bit silly when the songs were about to be played live!

EASILY one of the best gigs I've been to. I had loved the London gig but this one was twice as good. Ginger looked extremelly well and has come on a long way since the last acoustic gig in Glasgow when he seemed soooo down (understandably so). Hopefully this band are here to stay.

I must have been hearing things because I heard that song sung live last night

The reason I know it was sung is I'm not a fan of that particular song so I went to the bar

Ugly was definitely live. The first song played in fact after the GTT intro (not live, of course).
There were a couple of cover versions near the end that i didnt recognise tho and also im not sure if the version of the doobie brothers classic, Listen to the Music was meant to be in the set as Ginger said they would have to kill a bit of time while the sound of the piano was sorted out.

If u notice Ginger commented on how loud it was on the very next song afterwards (The man who cheated death) and he kept laughing all thru it!

Great show tho, altogether too "epic" for a small venue like Cathouse tho. Deserves a bigger stage.
I was the one down the front jumping around wearing the ancient Ace Frehley t-shirt. Hope i wasnt blocking anyones view!!

although it was a couple days ago.. and i'm far far too lazy to remember it exactly, but here's the rough idea.. (with the help of posh)

GTT
Ugly (wih sammy)
yeah yeah yeah
my friend the enemy
drinking in the daytime
this is only a problem
mother city
10 flaws down
sonic shake
listen to the music
drunken lord of everything
only lonely
bulb
man who cheated death

encore:
answering machine by the replacements (this amused us no end)
pump it up
boys keep swinging
29 x the pain
[witty one liner signature goes here]
