Wildhearts Tribute Acts

Postby geordierussell » 28th May 07, 15:27

Are there are tribute acts doing the Wildhearts?

Most other bands seem to have a tribute act (Pink Floyd have about 37)

Some of the names of these bands is genius, and others are crap.

Ded Hot Chili Peppers, Oasish, Guns 2 Roses, Jon Bovi, T Rextasy, The Likeness (this one cracked me up!), Mentallica, Status Clone, Stereotonics, You 2//.

What names would be suitable for a WH tribute act?

Have a look at the line-up for the Glastonbudget festival - it's a festival with predominately tribute bands. Probably a fair amount of fun, given enough beer.. ;)

That's what got me started on this thread.

It looks like a blast.

I remember those two blokes who did Wildhearts songs with an acoustic guitar and a slide guitar. 'The Mildhearts' they were called. Great stuff. Search for them on MySpace.

If I were to start a Wildhearts tribute, I'd most likely name it after a song or a major line in a song... something like The Sky Babies or V-Day.

I know I remember seeing a band called "Sky Babies" in a gig guide a few months ago, dunno if its a tribute act or just influenced by...

True true... here they are: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... d=22961968

Not bad, and they list the 'Hearts as their first influence.

Awww, 3CR were great, bless 'em.

And I'd suggest the Moodswingers, but I think that one was already done..

I remember being in Aberdeen about 5 or 6 years ago, visiting some friends. I spotted a couple of flyers in a pub advertising a gig by a band called 'The Wildhertz', written in the 'jaggy' font seen on the 'Sick Of Drugs' single cover, amongst other places. I had to go back home on the Sunday for work, but the gig was on the Tuesday night, or something. I couldn't really stick around to see what was going on.
