Nuneaton last night...

Postby Hannah » 2nd Jul 06, 11:03

Definitely one of the most drunken shows I've been to!

Did anyone else who was there stay for Random's spontaneous solo set after the main one? He leapt back on stage, started doing ten minute non-stop Bruce Forsyth impressions before picking up Ginger's guitar and deciding to 'entertain' everyone in his own inimitable style...

He'd been going for an hour when we had to leave, and the venue manager was beginning to look decidedly worried!

Think we filmed some of it, though it may prove extremely offensive to basic decency!

PS. Yay for random ball throwing at gigs!

If anyone from the board was there, I may have been a wee bit tipsy..... but I blame Hannah and sarah for feeding me lager!!!

I think I may still be pissed and woke up with a ball down my trousers that wasn't attatched!!!! Thought I had a hernia when I saw the lump too

Double YaaY for Random Balls !!

Support was supposed to be Superreal, but they apparently didn't answer their phones, so we had an extra long set!

Setlist was;

Answering Machine
Top of the World
Drunken Lord of Everything
Only A Problem
One Love, One Life, One Girl
Inside Out
Someone Who Won't Let Me Go
There's Only One Hell
Headfuck (although the chorus was changed to chants of Random!)
Suckerpunch
Sick of Drugs
Cheers
Always On My Mind
Girls Are Better Than Boys
Geordie in Wonderland
Vanilla Radio
I Wanna Go Where The People Go
29 x the Pain

I *think* there were other little bits thrown in, but we were all quite tipsy down the front!

Band was Ginger, Jon and Jase, though to be fair it should have been advertised as Random Jon Poole plus support, he took that much of the limelight! Fantastic night.

See you Tuesday!

Sadly we had to get back, so we missed Random's act of random acts :(

Anyway, Ruth took some photos of the evening, which can be seen here - feel free to have a gander!
There are a couple of vids of the set as well, but they need rotating and shrinking first before I put them up.

I know this is over a month after the event - been a bit busy of late so I'm only just catching up with the list/forum! Organizing a wedding is time consuming stuff...

Great pix - apparently, you were stood right behind us (yes, we were the rowdy pissed up crew  ), seeing as my head features in one of the shots!

I think I remember you :)

Actually, it wasn't someone who was with you that I dropped my brown ale bottle on their drink was it? I swear I wasn't pissed, it was just baking hot in there and my hands were sweaty...honest!
