Who's going? Where's The Pitz? Where we meeting up for a pre gig cocktail? I've only ever been to the big shopping center once. I'll be driving North up the M1.

See yous there

I'm getting the train up from London, I've just about worked out how to get from the station to the venue (last time I went to a gig there was 1993!)
I'll probably go straight there, not expecting to get in much before 7 though.

according to the web site doors open 7.30.

www.myspace.com/thepitzclub

its actually located at the woughton centre, which is part of the milton keynes college campus at leadenhall. do not confuse this with the open university campus

there are no bars in the immediate area and the bar int the venue is pretty small (just one bar outside the main hall which is like a sportshall)

i'll be there with the wife and hopefully a few others mates if i can persuade them. see ya down the front. i can't wait :D 8)
why do i have to ignore you to get your attention?

I'll be going. It is literally the hardest place to find in the world though! My band played there a few months ago and even though we've all been numerous Pitz gigs in the past we were still three quaters of an hour late for soundcheck. Will definately be printing off a map this time! :D

The bar there is a pretty good place to just sit around a chat before going to the venue next door. Though I do have rose-tinted memories of it. The first time I ever saw The Wildhearts I just walked into the venue and headed straight for the bar, where I met Danny standing on his own. Being the great bloke that he is, he complimented me on the obscurity of my bootleg Wildhearts T-shirt, then bought me a pint!

As ever, I'll be wearing my "demand the right..." Tshirt with green tartan shirt n jeans. If you see someone looking lost and alone, come and say hi and I'll buy you a pint (bro could not make this one)

O.k mate. If I see you wandering about I'll definately come and say hello! I'll probably be in a group of people all wearing biker jackets (mines got a big Ramones patch on the back!).

Can't fucking wait for this gig. The setlist they've been playing so far looks great. Though I do think it's a shame they haven't been playing 'Slaughtered Authors' on this tour. Would have loved to have heard that one live!

Hi guys

Does anyone happen to know if there is a dirt cheap hotel/hostel near the venue at all? I should really have planned this a while ago - theres no way Im gonna watch the show sober so I could be kipping in my car outside unless I can book a room!

Cheers!
Matt

I'm sure I've seen a travelodge or something near the venue but don't quote me on it!

Just got some tickets for this :D Looking forward to it - already seen em in Leeds this tour, and trying to get my head around a 400 capacity venue lol - its going to be intimate.

there's a bunch of holiday inn / jurys inn / travelodge types nearer the station / town centre , about half a mile or so from the venue

it does have a kinda weird geography , lots of straight lines but not an exact grid . best bet for town centre is walk out of venue , turn left , go straight .
don't gimme your manson lamps

Shit, I was totally stressed by the time I got there (found the damn place). Some arsehole had flipped his car on the M11 which meant I was late getting back to my hotel, then the run up the M1 was freakin miserable due to the roadworks at Luton. But despite not getting there til after 8:30, and then having to have a beer to calm down, I still walked straight to the front....which was nice. Enter the Wildhearts......why are folks not going NUTS? Atmoshpere a little stange I thought. Band not quite as tight and hard hitting as Glasgow (all relative of course), but here's the thing - Ginger seemed to be on cloud nine throughout the night. Great interaction with the crowd, very amusing stories and observations...could not praise the fans enough, very humble. Set list identical to previous dates, no surprises....the now traditional cover version intro was "My Sharona", also, a nice little "Z Cars" interlude during "I Wanna Go" (now I'm showing my age!) . Had I not been at that ferocious inferno in Glasgow the week before, this would have been the gig of the year easily. Had Ginger interacted with The Garage as he did here at The Pitz, there would have been nuclear meltdown, but that might have softened the sonic assult. These are just my own observations and conclusions, and in no way meant as criticism. Still by far the greatest rock n roll band that struts the planet at this time. If Glasgow was a 10, MK would be an 8. Bonus, I got two of Ginger's picks...that's gotta help the playing! "Revolution..." was the highlight for me. Great night, but perhaps a little too much stress in getting there.

Have to agree, Ginger was on top top form. Venue wasn't 'packed' like at Oxford so got to stand at back with kids and had great view!

z cars - that has been bugging me for hours. i knew i knew it ( sorta)

keith was right - the place was pretty busy, but strangely subdued, lots of singing i guess but niot much bouncing around. still the cheers at the end of each song were loud and the band seemed to have a blast. i don't think i've ever seen ginger so smiley. and we got the comedy falling over bit at the end ( which bizarrely sign seemed to do for real!)

set wise we didn't get top of the world - boo

but we did get nita nitro - yay :D :D :D

revolution was awesome, although gingers vocals were a bit croaky and they seemed to play the calling section faster than at kokos

everlone was fantastic - a song you can sing the words and the guitar parts to.

personal highlight was headfuck - i just love that song live.

rooting was great - my missus loved it and said it was way better than the cd version.

both support bands sounded better than they did at kokos - possibly due to a better sound mix?

in conclusion Where's my elvis? there are four of them right there on that stage. awesome show from the best band alive :D :D
why do i have to ignore you to get your attention?
