YES
I'm going to buck the trend here and say it IS the best Wildhearts album to date. It shows the band at height of their creative powers.
You want lots of heavy riffs? You got 'em.
You want sugary sweet melodies, and catchy-as-fuck songs? By christ you got em too.
Lyrically the band know when to get all serious and provoke thought (The Revoution Will Be Televised & The New Flesh), when to be fiery and angry (Destroy All Monsters & The Sweetest Song) and when just to have some dumb rock fun (Rooting For The Bad Guy). Like a bag of pick and mix it's got everything a rock fan could want.
And unlike Earth Vs the production is superb, unlike PHUQ there's no filler tracks, it doesn't sound rushed like The Wildhearts Must Be Destroyed and the band aren't the verge of terminally heading south through their own narcotic misadventures like they did so noisly on Endless, Nameless.
What's more, to go through all the (mostly self-inflicted) turmoil like the band have done and to come out the other side, sounding fresher than people half their age and on double the budget is the sort of acheivement the Queen should be acknowledging in her next honours list.
