Yeah, but the way a capo has to stretch the strings to sound right at the first fret will probably mean you end up with it horribly out of tune when you take it off.

You're probably best off nipping down to your local music emporium and getting yourself a cheap chromatic tuner. You can pick 'em up for just over a tenner these days.

This one should be pretty reliable.

Korg tuners do seem to be the most accurate.

just tune to standard, and then detune the low E string by ear so that the sixth fret is the same as the open A, then detune the A string so that the sixth fret is the same as the open D, and so on...

i had a fun time trying to tune to open C (CGCGCGE) to play some devin townsend stuff the other day... bit of a fuck-about, but it's an interesting tuning, fun to play in.
IF THERE'S A SOUND YOU PLAY THAT DOESN'T FIT TODAY,
WHY NOT JUST PLAY THE BASTARD ANYWAY?!

According to these instructions on their website, in Meter Mode it detects the note you're tuning to automatically.

So if you pluck a string, it should tell you what the note is without you changing anything on the tuner.

Yep, exactly the same. For some reason it's a general convention to use Bb and Eb, but sharpen the others - Although it does also depend what key you're playing in as to what they get called.

So you want Eb, G#, C#, F#, Bb, Eb. :D
