Died yesterday from cancer of the kidney. He had the other removed in January and was on experimental treatment paid for by fundraising from the Madchester bands he helped establish!!!

He was quite a character.

Very sad. He always seemed like someone who cared for music above money, as shown by the standard Factory Records contract which read something like... "All bands on this label are free (to fuck off)"

Damn shame.

fucking legend, i wasnt even born back in the eighties, but he seemed like a top bloke in 24 hour part people.
