There's many that get a brief spin probably with greater frequency but those two go on and stay on every time I listen to them. Not many albums I listen to all the way through now I'm sad to say.

Obviously there's Wildhearts stuff on that list as well but...you know...you already knew that.

I played my cassette copy of 'Nevermind' so much that it threw a complete wobbly and now it only plays backwards. 'Teen Spirit' is actually better in reverse and 'Come As You Are' sounds exactly the same.

Me & my mate Shteevan copied it onto a blank cassette and convinced one of our mates that it was a hot new German band and that he should rave about it to everyone he knows as they were going to be huge.

Gotta be Appetite. I played it so much the cassette went blank. It was the only album I owned for three years and I never got bored of it. I can never get bored of the intro to Mr Brownstone

Most played over 30+ years has to be "The Most of Terry Reid" he has the most amazing voice (was up for the Led Zep job but turned it down) but when he made this aibum (originally called Superlungs) he made a cracker. Extraordinary vocals, powerful backing by the band that went on to become Paladin and a great mix of own songs and covers. The CD re-issue has the earlier single of the Sonny Bono song 'Bang Bang' and it is astonishing - pisses all over the White Stripes version and it was recorded in '68/69 in Mickey Mosts studio. Check it out, it doesn't disapoint and for me it contains a definite desert island definite - his version of 'Stay With Me Baby' sod the northern soul version (or Rod Stewart's for that matter) I could easily argue that it is the best vocal performance on record by a white male artist EVER.

Actually, in the car I find "Earth vs..." gets played for a week or so solidly whenever I rotate it in. Also Floodland by The Sisters of Mercy was played to death...and I may dust it off soon for a trip down memory lane.

Sisters fan, eh? I was at a charity gig in February at my local leisure centre which had been organised by some of the local bands and was suprised to find not one but two members of the Sisters in the audience. Apparently one of them had come back to visit his mum who lived nearby and the other one had nothing better to do that weekend.

Funny really as I'm not really a fan and only recognised one of them as I'd known him from the local gig circuit years ago. Small world...
