They are recording their 8th studio album, which is called Send Away The Tigers.

After having a sneak listen to I'm Just A Patsy it's a return to rock form.

Should be out by summer / autumn I'm told.....

The Manics were one of my wake-up calls (along with Blur) to stop listening to boring shite. Still love 'em.

Yeah...MSP are fantastic. Holy Bible remains my favourite album ever, by anyone. Saw Jimmy Dean live solo, but thought his album was a bit iffy. Looking forward to the new MSP album though, don't they have a second guitarist live now?

..and didn't WH tour with MSP once? In like 1992 or something? I have some old dodgy bootleg of Dangerlust which purports to "feature" MSP, although I'm not sure if any of them play on it or anything.

They did. As documented in the Everything biography, Nicky Wire injured his knee doing a jump over The Wildhearts' tour manager. They also were due to support them at a one-off Christmas gig but had to pull due to various issues of the time...

I'm well excited about these dates! Gonna try and go to two of them if I can.

James Dean Bradfield is so fucking talented. One of my three favourite songwriters of all time (along with Steve Earle and Ginger of course!)

Any of you lot like JDB's solo stuff?

Aww, man. You've gotta check it out. If you like catchy melodies and big choruses then you'll like 'The Great Western'.

Sounds closest to 'Everything Must Go' era manics. Perfect for hangovers or if you're feeling a bit low and need cheering up. Very positive and summery.

After an hour and half on the phone i got tickets for Cardiff on the Saturday..... GET IN

Hoping the new album is a return to the edgier more rock (holy bible, gen terrorists) type of stuff

Gonna be great to see the boys in a smaller venue (and on home turf)

i used to be a massive manics fan first saw them on the generation terrorists tour at sheff uni with KINKY MACHINE (wot happened to them) but i think when richey dissapeared so did their edge, the TOWERS OF LONDON remind me of the manics 15 years ago attitude wise, i know when you get older you don`t feel the need to be as offensive, admittedley they still write good pop songs but they`ve turned into an average radio chart band (i feel a public flogging coming on)
