This years edition of the Download Festival will take place at Donington Park between June 12th & 14th.Bands currently announced to play over the course of three day event are Slipknot, The Prodigy, Motley Crue, Pendulum, Dragonforce and Devildriver. Also announcing their attention of playing at Download are Whitesnake who have issued the following press release:

WHITESNAKE are very happy to announce they have committed to playing a one-off UK gig in 2009 at the DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL on JUNE 14th with DEF LEPPARD...

And, according to Mr Ritch Battesby at Music Live at the NEC in November, the Wildhearts have been asked back. :D

They're playing the Friday according to Efestivals, who are pretty much never wrong when they say they know they're right. Looks like they're the Friday headliner. Hopefully the Wildhearts can get on that day too, so I can feel a little more justified in spending the money on a day ticket when I'm already going to a whole load of other festivals.

Faith No More have been offically confirmed as the third headliner alongside Slipknot and Def Leppard :D

Line up's already looking 29x beter than last year :wink:

Just waiting for the Wildhearts to be announced so I know what day to go on (fingers crossd theyr playing after last year)
