Old Bootlegs

Postby shat noir » 9th Jul 09, 00:04

This evening, I've been reliving my youth through bootlegs of old gigs 8)
So far I've found..
Guns n' Roses @ Slane '92
Guns n' Roses, Metallica & Megadeth @ Milton Keynes '93
Aerosmith & Wildhearts @ Donington '94

Also got couple of Metallica shows in dublin on the d/l
Still on the hunt for any other gigs I attended in the 90s

Anyone else got favourite bootlegs for revelling in nostalgia?
Gee mister you got the best answering machine message I ever heard

Probably my copy of The Shit Hits the Fans which is legendary in the Repacements fans circle. it was from a tape confiscated by their soundguy from some kid who was bootlegging the show and apparently they thought the quality was good enough to release properly but it was strictly limited, there's about twenty five songs on the thing altogether but only five of them are actually written by the Replacements.
There's a bit in the song Hear You Been To College where the sound drops out and rumour has it was caused by Paul Westerberg who accidentally pressed the record button on a Walkman while listening back to the master copy.
Did you just say "Pig Flute"?

i was at The Fest in florida last year and a guy at a merch stand was considering offers for a rare vinyl pressing of Shit hits the Fans. dunno how legit it was, but i kinda wish i'd gone for it now...
IF THERE'S A SOUND YOU PLAY THAT DOESN'T FIT TODAY,
WHY NOT JUST PLAY THE BASTARD ANYWAY?!

Metallica at Woodstock, pretty good. Nearly as good as the vid of them at the LA2 in 95.

Wildhearts-wise, I like my vid of the Garage birthday gig with all the b-sides. Schuweet.
