Anyone know what precisely this song is about and why it was written? Did Ginger ever have a run in with that newspaper or did they ever write something mean about him or The Wildhearts such that he felt compelled to write a song about how much they suck?

I think it was just a stab at journalists in general, and news of the world was a pretty good title to sum it all up..

I never took it as a stab at the paper but a commentary on the state of the world in general. I could be wrong, it's happened once or twice before!!
