The Wildhearts Next Album

Postby getting it on tuesday » 19th Sep 07, 14:44

Was talking to CJ last night and he said that The Wildhearts were going into the studio very soon (he said two weeks to me but thats a bit close to the US tour i think) and he said it will be very different to what they have been doing. I asked if it will be endless nameless different and he said we will have to wait and see.

So any ideas?

very cryptic from CJ there and to be honest thats what makes The Wildhearts so bloody exciting.you can never second guess the band.again this alludes to my other thread about the longer songs.the depth of quality and craftsmanship that this band displays never fails to inspire and enjoy.

i couldnt begin to guess.part of me would like to have a stab at it, the other just wants me to remain that 15 year old Wildhearts fan just waiting to hear what they will deliver next

all i can say is exciting times ahead

Glad to hear the new albums in works, perfect time to get started to have it released in time to stop the festival organizers complaining like they did this year...

If it was Endless Nameless different, it wouldn't be different at all. Maybe they're going electro psychedelic 8)

Speed Reggae? A fusion of Baroque and Funk? Maybe an album of spice girls covers?

We can only hope that it is indeed the spice girls cover album :D

Does Ginger ever stop ? Valor Del Corazon , Yoni , Wildhearts , Howling Willie Cunt ? , New solo album coming and new Wildhearts , all since 2004/5. Brilliant.

Yeah, it is great.

Kind of makes me wonder how much more Wildhearts material there might have been if the band had been able to dispense with the soap operatics earlier in their career. I distinctly remember Ginger talking about how he'd like to do 2 albums per year back in about 1996.

I don't know how many of you are aware of it, but Geri Halliwell's (Ginger Spice's)first solo album is titled "Schizophonic", If that's not weird enough, for me there's one more weirdness factor... pretty much my #2 musical idol, Nuno Bettencourt, named his first solo album exactly the same thing.

I remember reading an interview with Bettencourt saying he totally loved Fishing for Luckies but couldn't believe that there were so many changes in each song.
He said he'd get about 4 songs out of all the riffs on Inglorious.

Maybe Geri Halliwell had heard Message to Geri by Clam Abuse and called her album that a a tribute to Ginger.

Nooo, Message to Geri came after both Schizophonics.. I remember the Kerrang! story. (Thought I might have the article kicking around, but alas, no.)

Message to Geri - now that's a quality tune. But then it is a Ginger product, so it was bound to be. On some other forums I frequent, the term would be "hellfire". But I always thought that was lame.

WIDE IT!

Yeah, it was one of those 'listening lounge' type things where they played him about 10 or so records and he commented on them. Was it in Raw?

Yep, fluffygrue's right. Ms Halliwell did (possibly still does), however, claim that she invented the word. I don't know if anyone's ever put her right...? :?
