Radio 6

Hah! So after what seems like months of requesting Nemone play some Wildhearts as her choice track thing on afternoon Radio 6, somebody else beats me to it and I'm now sitting here at work listening to Vanilla Radio! You know, that "song that takes you back to the messy mid-90s"?!? Ah well, at least she played it, nice one Nemone. And followed with Echo Beach, 6 Music is good sometimes...

Yep, and she made the mistake of first saying "So and so (can't remember their name, didn't quite hear it) is doing something boring and would be really cheered up by some Wilds" or somethign similar, the "Wilds" bit obviously being the mistake. She corrected herself before playing the song and like you say, it was airplay. I think she does a thing where you can request the last song of the show from anything she's played today - time to put in the VR requests then...

:D Vanilla Radio being played again as the choice cut of the show! Excellent work, Wildies twice in a couple of hours. Thanks Nemone...

I saw Suckerpunch on MTV once at like 2AM on Headbangers' Ball. That's the only time I've ever heard them on any kind of public broadcast.

Ooh, used to watch (well, tape.. it was on a school-night..) that programme, and never saw a WH video on there.

My introduction to the band was hearing 'I Wanna Go' on Bruce Dickinson's Radio 1 rock show, though. And Chris Moyles used to play 'Cheers' quite a lot. Not heard them played recently, though. :/

That wasn't my introduction though. I saw that video shortly after I bought Earth Vs.

My introduction was pure luck. I was at the music store with money for a new album (tape) and couldn't find anything I wanted. I happened across EVTW (one copy) and the cover and song titles intrigued me so I bought it.

I saw tv tan, caffeine bomb, Suckerpunch, I wanna go & Lovebank videos on Noisy Mothers on ITV (remember that..) in the early 90's.

They were also on Top of the Pops several times (including more recently with Karma in the North), there was also live performances from Reading Festival, Phoenix Festival 96, donington, on Noisy mothers, Phoenix special and The Beat resectively.

Just in Lust & I wanna Go where the people go videos were shown on itvs chart show at 11am on a saturday morning.

more recently all the wildhearts videos (including new and old releases) have been shown fairly regularly on Scuzz tv (even redlight green light). Kerrang TV has also aired all the Wildhearts videos as they've been released since 'Must be destroyed'.

Plus.. Ginger & CJ had a big interview and accoustic track on Rockworld TV in april of this year.

Oh.. and i remember seeing the wildhearts on hotel babylon.

So i don't think they've been that ignored over the years. maybe its just where you've been looking? ;)

It'll be interesting if we see the New Flesh video on tv

And Hotel Babylon, as in, the TV series? When did you spot them?

I'm obviously pretty crap at being observant. :(

This would be Hotel Babylon the '90s late night music and chat show on ITV presented by Dani Behr, rather than the recent one on BBC1. :D

Heh! I remember Hotel Babylon, they had some wicked bands on there... I remember Dani Behr looking very confused as she introduced Sepultura on there...

But yeah, mid-90s the Wildies were everywhere... The death of the charts and the death of music programmes on the tv has put paid to that. Although it would be ace to see them on Jools Holland.

Ooooh, yes, I remember that one now. Phew. Thought you were talking about the recent swanky-hotel series.. ;)

Jools Holland, agreed, would be great to see them on there.
