Back of tickets for Newcastle Carling Academy say that no professional photographic or video equipment is allowed.

So you can take your home digital camera in without fear of losing it, like you would 10 years ago.
I suppose the advent of qulaity cameras on mobile pones has done for the no camera at all policy that most places used to have, seeing as you just can't police it anymore.

I was going to ask such a question so you've read my mind.

For some reason I've never actually been to Rock City, how would they be with a (admittedly reasonably large) digital camera?

I would presume that as long as it hasn't got a great big fuck off zoom lens that could pick out a fly at 100 yards, you'd be ok

Most venues will not allow SLRs in (film or digital), compact digis are often fine. Larger digis...depends whether the venue security decide they look 'professional'. Be prepared to have to leave it in the cloakroom....
