Has anyone got the lyrics for Return To Zero? It's an amazing track with lyrics that i just can't work out.

Fuck itself knows, but I remember someone on these boards once saying that this track might have benefitted from at least a semblance of melody.

This confused me, as I considered it a wonderful fusion of psychedelic melody with plentiful portions of chuck-yer-beer-all-over-the-roof pop-punk-pogo-punch in the chorus. And it's one of the most magical tracks on 'Coupled With' for my moolah.

WELL WE'RE AGREED ON BOTH POINTS THEN MATE - BUT WHAT ARE THE BLOODY LYRICS!!!!! SOME ONE MUST HAVE 'UM! COME ON GING I KNOW YA CHECK THE BOARD OUT FROM TIME TO TIME.

Thats what i hear. The Driver/razorblade suggestions sounds like what they're singing too.
No idea about that other missing line though, I keep hearing either something about "dog" or "dawn"

I hear 'dawn' too, but I can't work it into a line that makes sense... or even one that doesn't.

Cheers, they've been a work-in-progress for quite some time. Every now and then I'll have another listen and see if I can fill in a few blanks - usually just after I've got hold of a new media player so I can try different eq's and slowing stuff down. Oh, and I sent them to a US listee who added a few words too.

I'll give these lyrics a try eventually....

But for now. I ask you all: why isn't there a better version of this song than we have on "Coupled With"? I know it was vinyl-only until CW came out, but jeez. The CD version sounds like it was ripped from the vinyl. Surely there was a master tape of it to go from, no?

I'd have thought so (and the CW version is a lot better than the Riff After Riff version), but seeing as it sounds the same on the vinyl, I'm guessing it's meant to sound like that.

I'm being unfashionably late to the party, I know, but I hear that line as:
"These things should never be underdone, Underdone"

Did we ever consult Mr GW himself? I notice the lyrics have never been added to the Wildhearts site discography, so perhaps they remain a sad mystery...
