Got my ticket and looking forward to hearing the album all of the way through and also the b-sides as always had a soft spot for the Caffeine Bomb tracks.

That weekend will be like stepping back in time as going to Paradise Lost in London on the Friday as well.

Will back memories of the days when Kerrang was actually worth reading, metal music on TV was restricted to Noisy Mothers in the early hours, magazines came with free cassettes and people used to rush to the shops on a Monday morning to buy new releases. Jumpers for goalposts blah blah blah

I used the link in the e-mail and it worked straight away - tickets were certainly still available earlier this evening when I got mine.

Hmm.. Which is the easiest Travelodge to get to from Shepherds Bush, then? (Or any other cheap/nearby hotel recommendations?)

The only Travelodge with £29 rooms now (I just looked) appears to be Battersea. Which requires a bit of a walk (a mile or so) from the nearest Tube but it's perfectly do-able. A few slightly nearer ones at £49 (e.g. Liverpool Street) but if you're going to pay £49, you might as well go up to £60 and stay in the Hilton!

Help needded....

Oh my. I would sell my teeth to a hobo to get to this! :D Just a few problems...

I will have to go completely on my own, I will have to discover and book a train from Liverpool to London, when I arrive I will have no idea where I am/ where Im going, I have no family or friend down there to help me, if I manage find my way to the venue alone I will walk out and have absolutely no idea where to stay or how much anything costs AND Im gonna be doing all this at (only just) 18 years old

Im a little scared but am dying to see this show!

What can I do :?

Is anybody here leaving from Liverpool or Manchester whose booked somwhere to stay (Or knows somewhere I can book) and is willing to help me out? Its alot to ask but I wont get in the way or anything, I just need someone to point at the train I need to get on, point the way from the station to the venue and point the way to the hotel so Im not wondering arround London alone at midnight.

I know its probly all more trouble than its worth but this is a freekin one off deal of my favourte band celebrating my favourite album and I feel Im missing a part of history if I cant go. Cheers.

Hi my3dtvtan,

London is exceptionally easy to ngotiate, you will probably come into Euston.

Jump on the Tube heading back to Kings Cross - Northern Line.
Then get on the Hammersmith & City Line and get off at Goldhawk Road (As I think Shepherds Bush station is closed for refurb work).

And Vice Versa on the way back.

No idea on how much a train ticket from Liverpool is but there must be some bargains about, hotels will vary depending on price - don't expect anything plush - generally when booking hotels I sometimes find it cheaper to go through third party companies like www.otels.com etc

One tip - 'most' tube stations are very close together and generally no more than a 10 minute walk between each one in Zone 1 & 2. Black taxi's can be hailed from anywhere but they are not the cheapest thing - more of a last resort.

Look on www.tfl.gov.uk for Underground maps etc.

Cheers

Marc

If you look here, it kind of shows how close some tubes are from each other...
