... at a Vix 'n' the Kix gig at the Birmingham Bar Academy.

He's currently recording a new solo album in Birmingham with "a lot of guest musicians". This is due for release before Christmas as it stands. I am assuming Jase will be involved, as well as Vix and Bexx from the Kix?

The Wildhearts tour is a definate go for Christmas as is a new album which is gonna be recorded in the Autunm, and released in January or February 2008.

There was also talk of recording a Silverginger album which is mooted for a release around March 2008.

The guy is very busy, very sober and as always, on top form :-)

Cheers all,

Lee

Quite exciting!

Really silly question coming -

I was more or less under the impression that Silver Ginger 5 and the Sonic Circus had more or less merged into one big fat musical extravaganza.

As a general rule of thumb, the Wildhearts are your sort of general rock 'n' roll shindig, SG5 was more about the glam ethos of love and sex and the solo stuff was more personal, but the Circus live emcompassed all of these elements, as well as the members of the SC and SG5 more or less being the same, with the same OTT production values.

Not that I don't WANT another SG5 album (more about that later) but do we really need it?

Yes, we do! I'd love the opportunity to go to a SG5 gig, too, which is possible if a new album's on the way.. :D

Thanks for the gossip, Jeeze. All very exciting stuff. :)

Oooh, how exciting.
And yes, the world needs the second SG5 album...considering it was supposed to be the Wildhearts replacement band at the time it doesnt seem right it only get one album, and besides, those last 4 demos (expanded edition 3 and Beer For Breakfast) are great songs, even if they werent included they're a great sign of what music was being written post-mojo...

I think maybe "do we really need another SG5 album" was probably the wrong way of wording my quandry - I think more I meant "are SG5 and the Circus significantly different enough to justify individual releases/tours?"

Well a SG5 tour would be good cos then they might play some of the songs from BLM live ... I haven't heard 'em for a while + it would be good :-D I agree that the personnel in SG5 and T&TSC are mostly the same, tho ;-)
In an ideal world there'd be no time for ideals.

So what? musically, they're totally different bands. Also, GDW is not a gazillion miles away from TSC. Just be thankful that we are blessed with such great and creative musicians. :?

As long as we're not sacrificing quality for quantity then I don't mind.

To be fair, the wildhearts used to churn out loads of singles with loads of bsides, now Ginger can just make new albums rather than have to put out bsides in the 2-3 year stopgaps enforced by record labels between albums.

Hope this doesn't mean no singles at all though.
