Wildhearts London Forum 1994

Postby jo* » 2nd May 09, 10:58

Hi all,

My name is Jo and I'm a lapsed Wildhearts fan. It's been 5 years since I last played any of their music.

As punishment I'm now being forced to sell off lots of treasured items from my collection but I have a video which I know would go for nothing on the old bay of e - so I'm offering it for free to anyone who wants it. It's a fan recording of the 27th March (1994! How time flies) London Forum concert and also has some of the band's videos tacked on the end.

Anyone interested?

WHY NOT JUST PLAY THE BASTARD ANYWAY?!

Is that the show where Ginger is wearing a tuxedo jacket?

I think it is.Also i`m sure it`s the gig where a camera crew rushed on stage when they played suckerpunch,to get footage for one of the suckerpunch video`s,.AND,not quite so sure tho, this gig was also featured in a programme on telly with angus deayton(not sure if i`ve spelt that right, from have i got news for you)about people doing thier favourite things. He went to the gig with a fan, whose favourite thing to do was to go to wildhearts gigs.He did`nt seem very impressed tho,KNOB.

i'll check when i get home, but I believe I have that video myself. If it's the same one, it's got theforum gig pretty much in its entirety and most of their Brixton gig from 95, with the original video version of Life Is Like A Lovebank  tacked on the end. The forum gig was the one where the suckerpunch vid was filmed and Ginger was in a tux for part of the show.
Used to get the videos from a bloke in Camden market.

Yeah I had that video and recently converted it onto dvd, I used to buy from a guy in Camden too, he was usually set- up down this passageway with a few other stalls and was this tall punk rocker looking type. The vids were quite expensive iirc and not really worth the price, I was just deserate for a Wildhearts live show to watch.

that's the kiddie. very few of the vids were worth the money, but i was at both those gigs so i coughed up for it.
I think that passageway was where the fire was last year, dunno if he was affected.

Last time I was down that way was in february and it looked like the entire place was boarded up which doesnt bode well for your video fella, I know who you mean though, the frist time I ever went to Camden I noticed the stall and that was back in 94

I used to buy vids off that guy. Some were good quality, some weren't, but you takes your chances. I got a great bootleg of metallica's pre-Donington show at the Astoria2 in 1995. And Ginger's Borderline show with Alex Kane.

True, although i think they used to be about £15 or £20 which took the piss somewhat. I sure used to waste a lot of money back then :?

I wonder of there is as much a market for that sort of thing now.

oh yeah, I'm sure there are gems amongst the lesser stuff but I meant with the internet and youtube and all that gubbins whether there would still be stalls in Camden selling DVDs, I dunno.. :?: .

The guy in Camdens still there - although he's moved from where he used to be since that part of the market burnt down. He's still doing Wildhearts stuff - got the Astoria Xmess show off him last year - pretty good quality for a bootleg.

whereabouts did he move to? His stall was very easy to find before the fire. Is it near the old place? Same side of the road? Opposite side?
