Tyne Bridge I reckon, Redheugh is too close to St James's. I really hope there's a decent turn out for him, he really deserves a big crowd, unlike the Toon!!

Me and Jeff will be there. Probably around 7 so will just head straight to the Academy...
Erm, Steve, surely you should be grateful missing out on what stands chance to be the most nervous boring football match ever!

you are so right weebleboy....but i think you should mention that it was out of control of the band......somewhere inside the goddamn awful sound and feedback was a band still performing heroically....and full marks to G for handling the disastrous situation so well.....i personally dont think the crowd did their bit to help....lifeless

Now.... do I give an honest (yet probably unpopular) review or not....
Fuck it..... I'm drunk and I expected to have a better night than I did....
Laika dog- pretty good, familiar with the odd track, played a set where if I'd never heard of them I'd have gotten interested.
Ginger:
Opened with Why Can't You be Normal All the time.... Great tune, let down by bad sound, couldn't hear much guitar, nothing but snare. Straight into Black Windows. Love that song, one of the main ones I hoped they'd do tonight, again let down by bad sound.
After that the crowd started chanting to turn ginger's guitar up. In fairness, they had a legitimate complaint, as the first two songs sounded like they'd only mic'd the kit and vocals, and the guitars were somewhat lost. After this got fixed the sound out front seemed loads better, but caused loads of problems on stage. Ginger particularly struggling to hear himself thru the monitors - to the point where he had to sit on the floor to sing into the mic without feedback. From then on, the gig for me was a lost cause, despite some of my favourite songs making the setlist, it just didn't feel like a proper gig. I've never seen a BAD Ginger/Wildhearts gig, but this was probably the closest I've been to one....
Apologies if this isn't the shiniest of reviews, but that was the story of my night......

I enjoyed last night's gig although the crowd were very tame. I don't think you can make excuses for a lacklustre support; he's a legend so why did no-one appear excited? I'd had a few and was jumping up and down but felt a tit for doing so cos nobody else appeared to be getting even the slightest bit stimulated. Maybe we're all getting a little too old, maybe it was cos people had to go to work today, maybe people had football on their mind, maybe the venue's shite; probably all of these combined but it was still good crack and me and wor lass had a great night. Cheers Ginger!

yeah I noticed it was a bit tame. I was on my own down from Scotland due to being away with work for the Glasgow gig ( 'm keen!). I wanted to jump up and down more but being sober-ish (got a prime view of the stage so didn't move) and on my own meant I didn't. Maybe it's the crowd Ginger attracts now - they're seemed to be a lot of couples and not any rowdy group which you need for some life!
The sound problems where evident, but I still enjoyed it and worth the trip and expense. I'm also glad Newcastle won - didn't fancy walking back to hotel myself in a bad city atmosphere.

I was gutted that the sound out front (and onstage) was so bad. My band played the same venue around 8 weeks ago and the sound onstage was shite but it sounded good out front. There's nowt worse than not being able to hear your own vocals, and i've got to say i admire Ginger for carrying on regardless.
I wasn't sure if the bass was actually on at all at some points during the night. And it sounded like the bass drum was feeding back quite a bit too. It's a real shame that the gig would've been awesome if the sound hadn't been so poor.
It was nice to see some familiar faces there though. Incase anyone's wondering, i was the bald guy in the Shotgun Brides t-shirt.
Just wish i was going to some of the other dates now...
