Ginger Confirmed for Camden Rocks June 6th

Category: Music

Camden rocks is a brand new, Kerrang!-sponsored one-day festival which will take place in London on June 6.

The Wildhearts frontman Ginger and Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins are among the artists who've signed up to perform a solo show and DJ set respectively at the bash which focuses on the best of British talent.

"I'm really excited to play Camden Rocks," Ginger tells Kerrang!. "It's a great thing to showcase British talent. Help support independent music. I suggest that every single reader comes to Camden and get involved. I look forward to seeing your pretty little faces."

The one-day festival - which takes place at The Prince Of Wales, The Monarch, The Barfly and The Underworld - will also raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Tickets are priced at £20 and are on sale from www.camdenrocksfestival.com

Ginger is due on-stage at 8.15 at the Underworld for a 45 minute set, featuring a full band, before Pete Doherty finishes the show.

I'm assuming that unlike Lost Prophets guy, Ginger will actually be playing some of his own music?

I'd expect as much.

and as anyone who went to 08's Bulldog Bash can testify, if Tyla plays, the party will be in town, and we'll be treated to some of the world's best rock gems. That guy is the epitome of rock and roul troubadour. All heart and soul, with some spit and venom for good measure.

If I say so myself, a friggin' genius. 2 geniuses playing on the same night? That's summin special you shouldn't even contemplate missing if you're in the vicinity and available to have your socks rocked!

Chris McCormack was handing out flyers for this last night at the Therapy gig.

Black Spiders are playing as well, was always a fan of Groop Dogdrill anyway but saw them supporting Danko Jones recently and they were quality.

Bit worried that I will buy a ticket and the Ginger venue will be full to capacity and I will end up having to watch The Paddingtons or Carl Barat!

Ah man, I only just heard about Black Spiders. Really wish I could see them. Why do people go door to door asking if you have heard about Jesus when what you really need is people knocking on your door telling you about bands like this. Y'know, something useful.

Anyway, sorry for going OT there - this Camden Rocks thing seems to be getting a lot of promotion over on myspace. If I could go I would cos it sounds ace.

After Pete's show at 9.30, Carl Barat is on at 11 so it's a Libertines reunion of sorts. So says Teletext anyway. Should at least guarantee a good crowd is there.
