Blind speculation here, but Ginger mentioned in the 'thanks you guys' thread that he's not mentioning anymore about his next solo album other than it's something he's wanted to do for a long time, and i'm sure he's on record as saying that he doesn't want to sing on his own solo albums anymore - he'd rather have guest vocalists singing ginger-penned songs (i.e. Vaden Todd Lewis on Siberian Angel).

So who knows, maybe that's what he's got planned for his next 'solo' album?

I assume the Steve mentioned in the article is Steve Ludwin - ex Carrie and Little Hell.

Always enjoyed Carrie.

Someone out of Curve? I was just listening to them last night. Could be the electronica-based thing we've been promised!

almost entirely off the point but my inner rock-nerd found the phrase "Rage Against The Machine's post-grunge crunch" very grating. A band releasing their first records during the glory years of grunge, while in an entirely different style can't really be described as post-grunge surely? You wouldn't describe Iron Maiden as Post-punk would you?

Good news! Am sure I'd read somewhere that Ginger & Chris McCormack weren't on speaking terms tho. Guess they've sorted it out tho.....

I bumped into Chris and had a chat with him last year at The Wildhearts Earth V's anniversary gig at Shepard’s Bush. So maybe that indicates they are back on speaking terms. :)

Anyone remember the time when it was reported that Chris punched out Ginger at a bar for allegedly speaking ill of Danny? I recall the events being sarcastically reported in the NME's gossip bit as 'scenes of UNIMAGINABLE violence.' Which made me giggle at the time.

I also remember our hero being referred to at another time in the same section as 'the infuriating Ginger one from the Wildhearts.'

Finally, while I'm on about it, I recall the same bit referring to the time the estimable Mr. G got smashed and apparently kept jumping onstage at a Groop Dogdrill concert before puking in the gutter outside. NME said 'what a wan- er, trouper, eh?' He was also referred to as a 'rock monster' in their live review of that gig. :)

What kind of rock star would you be if you didn't piss people off from time to time though eh? Bless him. ;)

I remember hearing that, but I stopped believing in what the NME reports as 'news' or even 'gossip' a long time ago... their version of events is as subjective as anyone else's, and just as subject to their own agendas. The only difference is that cos it's in print more people believe it.

I remember that being in Kerrang

then when ginger did his "Mr self destruct" interview in Kerrang he brought it up about how it was nothing and how pissed he was that it was used as news

I remember that, because I was there.
It was at the Garage at an 'A' and Groop Dogdrill gig. Must have been soon after Endless Nameless was released.

I remember Ginger appeared on stage and sang along (uninvitedly as it later appeared) with 1 or 2 Groop Dogdrill numbers, and I recall him at the side of the stage punching the air to 'A'
Then later outside he said about being thrown out and hoping he wasn't banned from the venue as Strapping Young Lad were playing there soon.

I have photos of the night somewhere. It was most definitely beer o' clock!!

Happy Days.

I have vague recollections of that might myself, now you mention it!

btw NME is written and read by pretentious tossers, IMO.
I have been known to attempt to read it, but if goes over my head. Too many big words!
A failed pretentious tosser, what could be worse?!!

On the subject, Chris, smashing bloke, don't give a damn about their past run-ins, they're a match made in hell, if they think about recording together - big, forceful personalities the pair of them. Could be a recipe for great, volatile music, amd us fans wouldn't say no to that, even if the recording process is totally nighmarish! It's the outcome that counts!

Let's hope it happens, and that they don't kill each other if it does!!
