ginger myspace

Just saw this on someone's myspace. the person who runs it should keep himself/herself in check. is it run by the guy who did all those CDs that never existed that then slagged everyone off when they wanted their money back? ginger should perhaps think about getting some different people behind the scenes.

so i bought the mans new album, posted him a comment sayin new album=bad coz i didn't like it and he sent us a msg full of praise:

You fucking bunch of cunts.

You not got nothing good to say?

What you doing with YOUR life?

Die in the way that all the unjust do.
Painfully...slow...and without respect.

Death to you and your fucking families.

Fuck you straight to Hell.

I hope to meet you one day, without the protection of the fucking internet.

I'll be here long after you're gone.

Cunts.

I live for your demise.

And it always comes.

G

Which Ginger myspace? If it's silverginger, that's Ginger's own page, hence it's been a while since he updated it.

Where did you see the comment?

it was the silver ginger one. i thought he had people running it for him and if not that is a bit of an appalling response.

i think the band were called dirty none. if you look at all the comments scroll down and then go on their myspace you'll see it in their latest blog.

and no i have nothing to do with that band. nor have i heard them. and no i'm not trying to get their hits up before you ask!

Some geezer in a band I've never heard of wrote:so i bought the mans new album, posted him a comment sayin new album=bad coz i didn't like it and he sent us a msg full of praise

Um, no, you just told him it was 'well bad', so he's fairly justified (possibly not to the extent of actually wasting a message on it) in feeling angry that his work isn't up to much - not that you didn't like it, that it's crap: there's a difference.

No, but d'you think it's possible that's what they're trying to do?? Bad press is a lot more effective than good press in bringing things to people's attention. The oldest trick in the book is for a band to recieve a good live review from someone in the paper then write in themselves saying "I was at that gig, they were shit!!". It makes it seem like more people give a shit about them, it helps to create a buzz - I mean, how much would we really have read about The Wildhearts without all the shitty stories when things went wrong?

'Course, as the original message was either a PM that's been printed without headers or has been deleted from their comments list, there's no way to know if it's even genuine (does he sign them 'G'?).

It's working though, we've wasted half a thread talking about the fuckers...

not sure about that promotion thing. i was looking on ginger's myspace and was reading the comments and saw that and thought i'd have a look at them i don't think everyone would bother. they have something like 700 profile views which, as i'm sure you are aware, is pretty low.

i still think that if it's a genuine response then ginger is being a bit of a dick.

anyway let's put this all behind us.

*If* Ginger even wrote that (which would surprise me massively), then if the guy has nothing better to do than slag off other artists without even offering constructive criticism - I quote "NAAAAAAAH. wot yoon doin. new album= well bad " - then what the fuck does he expect but an arsey response? Ginger put his heart and soul into this album, and in my humble opinion it's absolutely immense.

To criticise fellow musicians (not only Ginger) in that way is, to me, pathetic.

*sighs*. But I doubt that there's any point in messaging them pointing the above out.

Hopefully that's the last we'll hear from them!

700 is low? I've got a lot less than that*. Am I... unpopular??

If everybody who reads this board and Ginger's myspaz goes and has a look, that'll boost their numbers - admittedly it's made more of a challenge by none of us actually linking to the site, but hey, I'm not gonna make it easy... :P

* It should be noted (so I don't sound too pathetic - too late, you say??) that only about three people know of the existence of my page, and one of them is Tom - and that bastard never visits. :?

It's a bit like going up to a stranger in the street and telling them you don't like their hair. Some people need to learn to exercise a little restraint when it comes to sharing their opinion.

I agree both ginger and that band are entitled to their opinion and both (if ginger really did say that) should be a little less insulting

and 700 friends would be good but 700 views for a band isn't exactly huge especially considering their mums probably make up half of that.

i'm off to eat some onion rings and try to forget that it was me that started this whole topic in the first place.

He does sign his messages "G" and I wouldnt be suprised if Ginger wrote that myself... I know someone who got a very similar response once from him one time when he caught him in a bad mood...complete with threats etc.

I do think it's a bit of an over-reaction if he did write it.

That would make a belter of a song. Whoever did write it is a genius.

The only thing it has in common with Ginger's page is that we've both got a band called Dawnraid incessantly posting on our pages in the hope that we'll sit up and take notice. Rather than thinking "now would be a good time to get a life"...

Yeah, it is an overreaction, but let's not forget that the guy (if it is indeed him) suffers from a severe mood disorder. I have a friend who is manic-depressive, and he says that at his lowest moments he can feel utterly worthless, while at his 'highest'/most manic he feels an almost conteptuous superiority to others around him.

That reply could conceivably have come from a person in either kind of state. Or maybe just a guy who thinks his new album is the absolute giraffe's tits. :)
