Albums, singles, songs and general Ginger banter

how can you people not want him to be massive? I can see the appeal, but the guy has had enough downs, he needs a up and for his music to be recognised! TBH I doubt it will, because the music industry seems to want the same old crap :(

I can never understand the "I hope he doesn't get big" argument. Flip the coin, and imagine GINGER coming up to YOU and saying "you know that interview you had last week for a promotion, more money and a company car? I hope you don't get the job".....
How dare you!

The argument is that we want him to be mega successful, but by the same token we also don't want to lose the intamacy that we have at the mo.

Exactemundo amigo.
Isn't it ironic that not many people know the meaning of the word esoteric?

Na, if he got huge he'd have to do endless touring and all the rest, which would probably mean less releases.

He does tour pretty endlessly now !

I see both sides of the "Getting big" argument. I suppose it leads to arguments of "selling out" (Ca'nt see ginger doing that somehow).

I just wish people would hear a song now and then on mainstream channels (ie Radio 1) and thgink "Wow, ill check that out". I had "Black Windows" playing through my work PC a few days back and the only comment I got was "whats that rubbish - its crap".

After removing my fingers from her eye balls I we had a heated debate on the virtues of "pop" music (shes mid 40s and like sugerbabes etc) vs "proper" music that makes you think. I won the moral victory ! :D

ooh tough one.
think of all those great artists that we have all been to see live/bought cds by, that fall by the wayside because they can't afford to keep going. sometimes a small amount of adoring fans isn't enough.
luckily ginger seems to be a stubborn bastard and keeps going in form or another (solo, wildies, accoustic,sg5 etc).

and anyway much as i love it I can't see yeah, yeah, yeah setting the charts alight. Unless we all go and buy hundreds of copies each
why do i have to ignore you to get your attention?

Click the Round Records link on the Ginger release and there's a forthcoming record from the God Damn Whores on 30 October called "We Are The Lucky 13", apparently. It's £6.99, so I'm guessing it's a mini-album...
